HEART DISEASE- What You Must Know
Heart disease is a progressive buildup of fatty deposits in the blood vessels, leading to blockages that prevent oxygen and nutrients from reaching the heart. It's a lifelong process that you can't see or feel until the damage is done.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO REDUCE HEART DISEASES RISK
Because damage to alone vessels occurs over time, what you do and don't do beginning early in life can help reduce you your risk.
1. stop Smoking.
smoking is the single biggest risk factor for a heart attack.
2. Exercise
Heart disease is almost twice as likely to develop in inactive people. Aerobic exercise raises HDL or good cholesterol/ most cholesterol- lowering medications don't even accomplish this.
3. Eat Smart.
Fruits and vegetables top the list for a heart-healthy diet because they contain antioxidants, which help prevent artery -clogging deposits. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in cold water fish, such as salmon, seen to be protective. Saturated fat, the line in meat and dairy products (except non fat ones), raises blood cholesterol and increase risk.
