Fitness & Health- ab Exercise For A Bad Back Back pain often stems from weak abs, but if you have babe back, doing brunch strengthen your ab-dominals can hurt. These two moves work the abs without having to lift your torso, a move that can strain your back. BALL CURL Lie on floor facing up, holding a 12-inch ball between your knees. Cross arms over chest. Slowly curl lower body off floor, bringing knees close to chest. Keep abdominals contracted throughout; lower feet to the floor. Do two sets of 10 reps. ALTERNATE ARM/LEG LIFT Lie on floor with legs position right arm overhead on floor and left arm by your side. Contract abdominals (think of bringing navel closer to spine and ribs close to hipbones). Simultaneously lift left knee toward chest while bringing right arm down by your side as you lift your left arm overheard. Keep stomach muscles tight as you lower your left donou to th floor. Lift right knee an repeat arm positions on opposite side. Do two sets of 10 reps.
